Webmail

LMi’s webmail interface is the ideal way to access your email account when you are not at your own computer, or when you do not wish to set up an account using email client software.

You can access it from any internet-connected web broswer at https://webmail.lmi.net. Note that this is a secure connection, so your password is encrypted before being sent.

Once connected, type in your email address and password. (if you use an lmi.net email address, you can just type in the username. i.e. for “joe@lmi.net”, username = joe).

Keep in mind that when accessing webmail, you will only see the email that is currently on the server. Email that you previously downloaded to your computer may not still be available on the server.

We have chosen SquirrelMail for our webmail interface. This provides an advanced feature set while remaining very fast at handling large mailboxes. If you need it, there is on-line documentation available- just click the “Help” link at the top of the page.

    6. Below, in the Action section, click the “Move message into” button. You can then select an existing folder to filter the spam into. We recommend the Trash folder, but you can select any other folder if you prefer. Finally at the bottom, in the “Additional Actions” check the STOP checkbox. This way if you have a vacation message setup you won’t send a vacation message to some bogus spammer email.

Please note that if you are checking your email from a POP mail client, only those messages in the INBOX will be downloaded, so the spam that gets filtered out will not be downloaded to your email client (but can be viewed with webmail.)

What’s up with the folders called ‘Learn Spam’ and ‘Learn Ham’ ?

These folders are not currently operational. Eventually, you can move spam that wasn’t tagged as such into these folders to “train” the system to recognize them as spam

Learn Ham (Ham is not spam, i.e. legitimate email) does the same thing in reverse.
