How to transfer files to your free LMi website using FileZilla

LMi.net recommends FileZilla as a simple, free Windows FTP client.

After downloading and installing the program, open FileZilla and select Site Manager from the File menu.

Use the Site manager to store the hostnames, usernames and passwords of all of your FTP servers. Start by defining a new FTP server by entering the hostname into the Host field, your username into the User field and your password into the Password field. Leave the remaining fields with their default values. Click on Save and Exit to permanently store your parameters on your PC and then click Connect to actually connect to the FTP server.

Once you are successfuly connected to the server, you can upload or download a file by double-clicking on it. Another way to upload or download files to or from the server is to just drag the files from one side and drop them on the other side.

Extensive help files for FileZilla are available on their website.
