High-Speed Wireless
LMI.net is now offering high speed wireless Internet access to most locations in the Berkeley/Oakland/San Francisco area. Now you can get speeds much faster than DSL or cable for your home or business.
High Speed Wireless delivers:
- True symmetrical bandwidth: Unlike ADSL or cable modem service, our wireless access provides the same speeds for uploads and downloads. Faster uploads means you can host your own mail or web server, or allow for fast remote access to your home computer from elsewhere.
- No phone number required! The service does not use a telephone line - the only requirement is line-of-sight access to one of our radio towers located in the East Bay hills, Jack London Square, or the Sausalito Ridgeline. Now you can cancel your AT&T phone service and use a Voice-Over-IP carrier for your telephone service. This savings alone makes wireless service very affordable.
- Each connection is assigned an 8-node network, allowing you to assign routable IP addresses to servers, VOIP phones, and other devices that need a publicly-accessible IP address.

MIR: Maximum Information Rate. Your connection can burst up to this speed as needed.
CIR: Committed Information Rate. This is the minimum data rate. Your connection will always be this fast even if there is no traffic flowing on the connection.
Setup: All LMI wireless service is professionally installed. We will come to your home or business on a day convenient for you, mount the radio dish on your roof, and run cabling inside for you to connect to your computer, Ethernet switch, or router.
Equipment: We use Motorola Canopy radios, operating at 5.6MHz. For Residential service, you purchase the equipment up front. For the Business plans, the equipment is leased as part of the service, so there is no up-front cost for equipment. Leased equipment must be returned if service is cancelled.
